Call for Artists: The Art of Chess
An original "Chess" themed art exhibition right in the heart of Denver's Beautiful Santa Fe Arts District! Two incredible evenings of art, wine, and of course—the timeless game of Chess!
- The show welcomes submissions from artists in all media, and will be juried by three local artist-judges: Don Callarman, Janet Glovinsky, and David Reed.
Where: the Glovinsky Gallery of Contemporary Art, 800 West 8th Ave., Suite 116. One block east of Santa Fe (Please use Inca Street Entrance) South of the corner on 8th and Inca.
Show dates: The openings are on First Friday, November 4th, and First Friday, December 2nd. Artists are encouraged to attend! The gallery is always open by appointment.
How to Enter: Online: Artists may submit work online anytime until Thursday, October 27th @ http://glovinskygallery.com/, by providing the information from the form below along with a jpeg. via email and pay the $10 fees through Paypal (the earlier, the better!).
- Accepted work must be dropped off at Glovinsky Gallery, on Sunday, October, 30th.
- Walk-in submissions will be considered on Sunday, October, 30th, until 3:00pm, with this form and payment, but the artist should call ahead (303-587-4237) to make sure space is still available. Decisions will be made by 5pm, and work left for consideration and not used must be picked up that night!
- Artists must pick up work on Saturday, December 10th, 2-4pm, and/or the following Sunday, December, 11th, 1-2pm.
Fine Print: All artwork must be ready to hang/display with wire on the back. Artwork must be for sale.
- Submission fee: $10
- Commission: 40%
- Artists who do not pick up their work after the deadline will be charged a fine of $5 a day, per artwork until it is picked up.
